SALOMÉ MAAREK

ABOUT

Salome Maarek is a multidisciplinary designer that works with textile, ceramic and glass materials.
She was born in Paris, France.
She studied Fashion, Textile, Materials and Surfaces design at the Duperre Academy in Paris.
Then, she moved to Israel in 2019.
She started at the same time the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design.
She decided to choose the Ceramics and Glass department to continue her studies.
She is working with a geologist and chemicals in material research.
She also developed a new material: a matter that is colored with natural pigments from different regions of Israel. Her work was published in several magazines like Yanko Design, Designboom, Material Source, Wevux or Green Designs.

She was exhibited at the Dutch Design week 2022, Surface Design Show 2023, Ambiente Show and Material District Fair.
However, she is also a research assistant in another research to create a new matter with the salt of the Dead Sea.
Her magic words are local, environment and sustainability.
